So often, we give everyone else full access—calls, texts, emails, the endless pull of life—while God gets the leftovers: a rushed prayer, a few quiet minutes at night.
What if we flipped that? What if the first hours of our day were spent with Him—asking for guidance, seeking direction, resting in His presence—before the world knocks on our door? Even if you’re rushing out the door, even if the day is packed, what if the first few moments belonged to Him—asking for guidance, resting in His presence, listening to His voice?
But here’s what changed everything for me: no access to me after 7 PM, and no distractions, phone off until 8 or 9 in the morning. Those hours? They belong to Him—my first love, my anchor, my guide. Starting and ending my day with God is more than discipline. It’s intimacy. It’s clarity before chaos, peace before the pressure, strength before the demands. When the world calls, I respond from fullness, not depletion.
When we start with God, everything else flows from a place of clarity, strength, and peace. We respond to people not out of obligation or depletion, but from fullness. We live intentionally, not reactively.

Challenge: Guard your mornings. Protect your first moments. Let God have the first word and watch how He shapes the rest of your day.
